Whilst we have now migrated away from residential dwellings a large proportion of our work consists of providing metalwork staircases, balustrading and balconies to large residential and mixed use developments.
Our Projects
As much of our work in this sector consists of repetition we pay particular attention to how each component can be standardized to reduce design, detailing and fabrication time. Early involvement with our clients and their design team plays a vital role in this process and pays dividends throughout our involvement with the project allowing the site works to flow without continually re visiting design details and interfaces.
The following are just a small sample of the many projects – large and small – that we have successfully delivered:
Edinburgh Luxury Apartments & Townhouses, Woodcroft The Grange
Client: Cruden Homes
Value: £600k
We became involved with this prestigious development of 81no dwellings at an early stage and as well as fabricating the balustrading and glass juliets we played an integral part in designing a pre fabricated balcony system fully built in our workshop including powder coated steel frames, glass balustrading, timber decking and first fix cladding. These fully built free standing balconies were then transported to site where they were stacked on top of one another expediting installation time to a fraction required using traditional methods.
The Engine Yard, Shrubhill, Edinburgh
Client: Allenbuild
Value: Circa £2.25m
Currently under construction this major residential development in Leith, Edinburgh consists of 376 new homes.
We are not only fabricating all the metalwork requirements for this project but due to our performance on the early phases we have subsequently been awarded both steelwork and fencing packages.
Again, we have provided our client with a fully pre constructed product, this time in the form of timber screens fixed to a metal frame secured to the walkways to the flat entrances. We fabricated the frames off site and also undertook the joinery element by incorporating the hardwood timber slats to the screens before delivering and installing the fully built screen on site using our own crane.
